RAID

Redundant Array of Independent Drives

Originally called Redundant Array of Inexpensive Drives, RAID was the inexpensive alternative to expensive and complicated SCSI drive interfaces.

Since we are only recommending SATA for Hard Drives, the RAID solution must also be SATA enabled.

We recommend the LSI Logic MegaRAID SATA 150-4 based on the review in InfoWorld magazine:  www.infoworld.com/79 .  It is available for less than $400 (as of Dec 2003).
